Your trained Home Hero tech walks through your home and checks everything on our "What we check" list: water lines and shutoffs, water heater, smoke and CO alarms, HVAC filters, roof and gutters (visual), GFCI outlets, exterior drainage, and doors and windows. They take photos as they go and flag anything urgent on the spot. Afterward you get a photo report with their findings and recommendations.
A check usually takes about 1–3 hours, depending on your home. You'll schedule a time that works for you.
Active leaks or flooding, a burst pipe, storm or roof damage that's letting water in, and similar urgent problems. Our team works to stop further damage: shutting off the water, tarping (held down with sandbags only, with nothing fastened to your home), and securing the area.
We line up a licensed contractor for the next day. You get their quote, decide how to proceed, and pay the contractor directly.
No. Home Hero focuses on prevention and stopping further damage. Repairs are done by licensed contractors, whom you hire and pay directly.
No, and it doesn't replace either. Home Hero is a home care membership. It can help you catch problems early, and your photo reports give you documentation of your home's condition.
We check them during your visit and can replace them while we're there. You pay for the parts.
